Elmwood

Elmwood

The historic Elmwood District is renowned for its residential architecture, with many original Craftsman homes that define its character and set the standard for newer construction. Tree-lined streets and old growth, well-tended gardens make this neighborhood a delight to walk (and live!) while being close to downtown Berkeley. You see people walking their dogs, taking their kids to the park, meeting for coffee, shopping at Whole Foods, or going to the movies at The Elmwood Cinema, the only movie theatre left in Berkeley with Oscar nominated films, live theater screenings and an array of community screening events. Need more reason to move into the neighborhood?College Avenue serves as the vibrant center and has a wonderful mix of cafes, restaurants and quaint shops. We love this area and as long-time residents, know it like the back of our hands.
